Kia ora John, As we approach the end of what has been a difficult year, I wanted to send a quick note to say Meri Kirihimete and Merry Christmas to you all. There’s still a few days left until Christmas, but I hope you’re looking forward to a relaxing break and reconnecting with loved ones this holiday season. I also wanted to ask a small favour. The new government has already shown they're going to serve up windfalls to vested interests like tobacco companies, mega landlords, and large companies. And they don't seem to care that these come at the expense of good jobs and healthy lives for everyday Kiwis. I'm appalled by this, and I know so many others are, too. In the face of this government's agenda of looking our for vested interests, Kiwis need s strong Labour opposition more than ever. John, can you chip in to help Labour be the strongest opposition we can possibly be?
I know that not everyone will be in a position to donate this Christmas, but if you can, even a few dollars can make a huge difference, and will help ensure Labour is ready for the interests of ordinary Kiwis. If you want to ensure we can continue our vital work in 2024 and beyond, please consider chipping in today. I’ll be back in touch in the new year, but in the meantime, please look after yourselves, stay safe and have a very merry Christmas with your family and friends. Thanks, Chris Hipkins, Labour Leader P.S. Labour’s General Secretary, Rob Salmond, has also asked me to include a quick reminder about monthly contributions. These regular donations help us plan and ensure that challenges like those we’ve faced this year don’t derail Labour’s work. If you’re able to, will you consider setting up a monthly contribution, John? |
