While House Republicans have failed at the most basic tasks of governing — like passing a budget — they have no problem wasting our time and tax dollars on trying to impeach President Biden, despite their complete lack of evidence.

Lori Chavez-DeRemer once again proved that she’s no moderate when she joined her right-wing extremist colleagues in voting to formalize an impeachment inquiry into President Biden.

Republicans aren't even trying to hide that this is a political stunt. Rep. James Comer spoke openly about impeachment’s impact on poll numbers. And Trump ally Rep. Troy Nehls went as far as to justify impeachment as giving Trump “a little bit of ammo to fire back.”

Instead of working to solve the problems impacting everyday Oregonians, Chavez-DeRemer and her MAGA allies are abusing their power to try to score political points. That’s shameful.

Instead of passing the Farm Bill, and helping farmers feed hungry Oregonians, Republicans are wasting our tax dollars on political games.
