By Jessica Pishko

Here are some updates from today.
* Texas voters asked ([link removed]) the U.S. Supreme Court to review a state law that only allows people aged 65 years or older to vote by mail without a qualifying excuse. The voters argue that the law violates the 26th Amendment by discriminating based on age.
* Republican-led states are struggling ([link removed]) to maintain accurate voter rolls after leaving the popular voter data-sharing group ERIC due to far-right election conspiracy theories, according to documents analyzed by Votebeat. Learn more about ERIC here ([link removed]) .
* A federal judge paused ([link removed]) all proceedings in former President Donald Trump's Washington, D.C. election subversion case while the issue of presidential immunity plays out on appeal. The gag order against Trump will remain in effect for now.
* A federal appeals court also paused ([link removed]) a decision that ordered Pennsylvania counties to count all timely-received mail-in ballots where voters had forgotten to write a date on the outer return envelope. Republicans had appealed the order to count these ballots.

Here’s what’s on the docket tomorrow.
* Oral argument will be held ([link removed]) before the Oregon Supreme Court in a lawsuit filed by Republicans challenging an administrative rule that bars lawmakers who have more than 10 unexcused absences during the 2023 legislative session from seeking reelection in 2024.
* A motion for summary judgment hearing ([link removed]) will be held in a right-wing lawsuit challenging the use of drop boxes in Arizona.
* As we near the end of 2023, Marc shares what he sees as the biggest democracy wins of the year. Article drops at 8am ET!
