Tomorrow marks 11 years since the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Yet, in those 11 years, nothing has changed. Assault weapons – like the one that stole 20 students and 6 educators – still rule our streets, and our children continue to be plagued by gun violence.
– Guns are the leading cause of death for American children and teens.
– Our country has witnessed 330 school shootings this year.
– 2023 is officially the deadliest year on record for school shootings.
Children deserve to focus on their studies instead of learning how to duck and cover.
Parents deserve to send their kids to school without having to worry whether they’ll come home on the bus or in a body bag.
Teachers deserve to go to work without wondering if they’ll make it home to their families.
