Dear John,
In 1985, alongside the other Founding Mothers of EMILYs List, I set an ambitious goal: To build a network of at least 1,000 members committed to our mission of electing qualified Democratic pro-choice women to every level of office. In just ten months, we not only met this goal, but surpassed it.
In the nearly 40 years since the inception of EMILYs List, our now millions-strong community has made history countless times over.
Today, the political landscape looks vastly different than it did in 1985. Our mission, and the passion of our community, however, has never changed. EMILYs List members are tenacious individuals who are committed to breaking barriers, fighting back against Republican extremism, and supporting incredible Democratic pro-choice women who get things done.
That is why I'm inviting you, John, to pledge your early support and become a 2024 EMILYs List member:
Like you, I was furious when the conservative-packed Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last year. So as far-right Republicans got to work eliminating abortion access for millions of Americans, we rolled up our sleeves and prepared for the fight ahead.
Your investments in the women we endorsed last cycle were the reason Republicans were unable to pass their national abortion ban this year. And this cycle, early support from this community helped power critical wins in battleground states like Virginia. Without the support, courage, and determination of pro-choice supporters like you, John, none of this would have been possible.
But this fight is nowhere near over. The 2024 cycle is in full swing and the battle for our democracy and autonomy is being fought in the Senate, House, and state legislatures across the country.
