John –

It’s presidential primary season, and we’re in the middle of a pandemic. President Trump has declared a national emergency, major sports leagues are postponing tournaments, and yet over the next few weeks voters may be forced to line up at crowded polling locations if they want to vote.

There’s a bill in the Senate right now that would make it possible for all Americans to vote at home, keeping everyone safe while still ensuring the 2020 primary and general elections continue. Add your name now to send an immediate message to your Senators, urging them to pass the bill.

If passed, this bill (S.3440) would require all states to allow voters to request absentee ballots if a widespread emergency made voting in person unsafe. The bill would:

  • Provide $500 million in federal assistance to fund emergency state vote at home efforts
  • Allow all voters to request a ballot electronically and print ballots at home
  • Give states a grace period for ballots to be returned if there is a shortage of postal workers

Add your name now to urge the Senate to pass S.3440 and protect voters and our elections.

The act of voting is fundamental to our roles as citizens and a foundation of our Republic. Oregon, Washington, Utah, Hawaii, California, and Colorado will already be using vote at home systems that are safe and secure, and increase voter participation. Now, Congress must pass S.3440 to ensure every American registered to vote can exercise this fundamental right.
