It was a pleasure to join Andrew Yang on his podcast Forward. We were able to dive right into it - why I decided to run, what a presidential election is like, and what kind of president I will be.
You know me: I’m an eternal optimist, a radical pragmatist, a problem solver, and above all someone who believes that representation begins with listening. That’s what I talk about with Andrew. Listening to what my daughter feels about the future drove me to run for Congress, listening to people convinced me to run for President, and as President I will continue to listen to everyone.
It starts with embracing the diversity of the country and surrounding myself with those individuals - the best and brightest. The way I see it, it is a team of rivals who will help us develop the best policies. Ideas that are brought up should be tested. That’s why I’m excited to see Universal Basic Income more broadly tested in the United States. Let's see if it works, especially as Artificial Intelligence will force us to change the lens of US capitalism.
The next generation of leaders have a different view of the world. It’s a view that focuses on fighting for each other, not against each other.
If you are ready for that future, consider investing $50.
I know you worked hard for that money, and I understand if you are not able to make a commitment of that size. All investments add up, and they truly are investments. Investment in helping push a conversation towards working together. Let’s focus on participation, good debate, good competition, and good ideas.
