Dear New Yorkers,

City infrastructure is the foundation of our shared thriving. It’s the pipes that bring the water we drink. It’s the subways and streets we get around on. It’s the schools and parks and libraries that nurture our families.

New York City spends billions of dollars every year on infrastructure, also known as capital projects. Until now, it’s been hard to keep track of all these projects, as well as the money and time that goes into them.

That’s why my office just launched a new Infrastructure Web Resource that helps bring much-needed transparency to New York City’s capital projects.

This tool will help everyday New Yorkers assess the status of the City’s capital planning, investments, and project management.

Want to know where the money for capital projects come from? We break down infrastructure financing here.

What is the status of capital projects happening in your neighborhood? Track capital projects here.

How much money is being spent? See how much money goes into each capital project in our comprehensive Capital Projects Tracker here.

In summary, our new Infrastructure Web Resource is a repository for initiatives to improve capital project delivery, in-depth reports about the state of repair of the City’s infrastructure, analyses of the costs and delays in City construction, vulnerabilities in the face of climate change, and economic development opportunities among other critical aspects of public infrastructure projects.

I hope you’ll check it out — and together, we can make a City where every week is infrastructure week.

Thanks,

Brad
