As 2023 draws to a close, I am reaching out to you personally to make a direct impact

This initiative is the first of three that I’ll be sharing between now and the end of the year. Over the next 3 weeks you’ll have the opportunity to be a crucial part of supporting the rest and renewal of Christian leaders, championing women in ministry, and centering theological imagination from non-dominant contexts. Believing in the generosity of our community, I’m setting an audacious overall goal of $5000. To date, we already have $1700 in gifts and commitments!

As a Christian leader, you’re no stranger to the hustle and chaos of our world. You know that pastors often find themselves shouldering the burdens of others, at times to the detriment of their well-being. The weight of pastoral leadership, coupled with the veneration of “the grind mentality” in today's society can leave these dedicated leaders feeling weary and burned out. The ways of the Kingdom of God are a stark contrast to the productivity idols of our day. Jesus invites us instead to his “unforced rhythms of grace” (Matthew 11:28-30, MSG).

That's why we have included our Why Stay Retreats in our vital initiatives. Why Stay is a retreat specifically designed to provide rest, renewal, and rejuvenation for pastors and Christian leaders who have been tirelessly serving their communities. This retreat offers a sanctuary where exhausted leaders can reconnect with their faith, find solace in the company of fellow pastors and leaders, and gain valuable tools to navigate the challenges of ministry with resilience for years to come.

Our vision is to provide this retreat twice a year and to keep it cost-effective so that ministers whose context cannot support this type of life-giving experience will still have access to enjoy the benefits and blessings of this retreat.

Your donation will directly contribute to providing a safe and peaceful retreat venue, compassionate and engaging retreat staff who are dedicated to leaders’ formation and transition seasons, and covering essential resources for the attendees. Your generosity will be a beacon of hope, reminding these pastors that they are not alone in their journey and that their well-being matters.

* A donation of $100 will help cover the cost of meals for attendees.
* A generous contribution of $250 or more will go a long way in securing the retreat venue and ensuring a transformative, cost-effective experience for all participants.
