Dear John,

As we enter the winter months, it is absolutely critical that Alabamians are able to pay their home heating bills. No family should have to choose between staying warm and paying for food, medications, and other necessities.

The good news—thanks in part to President Biden's Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, $55 million from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is on its way to Alabama to help individuals and families pay their home heating bills this winter and cooling bills next summer.

I encourage all who qualify to apply for assistance!

Not sure whether you qualify? Use the LIHEAP Eligibility Tool at energyhelp.us or call the National Energy Assistance Referral (NEAR) hotline toll-free at: 1-866-674-6327.

I know that even with this aid, many Alabama families are still struggling to make ends meet. That's why last week, I joined 115 of my colleagues in calling for an increase in LIHEAP aid so that every family stays warm this winter.

If you have questions or need additional assistance, don't hesitate to call one of my district offices at the numbers listed below.

As always, please be sure to check in regularly with our website and social media pages (TwitterFacebook, and Instagram) for updates. If you'd like to share your thoughts or concerns, you can email me here.

Today and every day, it is an honor to serve you in Congress. Take good care.

Sincerely,
