The U.S. wants to be a global leader, but this is not where we should excel: The U.S. is the world's largest oil and gas producer, the world's biggest exporter of liquefied gas, and leads the world's largest planned expansion of oil and gas through 2050.

We are in the midst of a global climate crisis. Continued use of fossil fuels and plans for fossil fuel expansion will detrimentally exacerbate the crisis to the point of no return–we need to reverse course now.

The passage of the landmark climate legislation, the Inflation Reduction Act, set us on course to dramatically cut U.S carbon emissions. Now, however, oil and gas projects approved by the Biden administration–17 massive fossil fuel projects–threaten to erase progress in cutting global emissions.

We cannot tackle the climate crisis while still supporting fossil fuel use.
