Dear John,
This Saturday! Canvass and party with us!
Saturday, December 16 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
With 2023 winding down, we wanted to take some time to celebrate all that we've accomplished together the year! That's why we're inviting you to join us THIS SATURDAY for the socialist social event of the season.
Come kick back, grab a drink, and toast to all of our achievements and hard work this December 16th at Boomtown Brewery’s private bar and event space from 1PM to 4PM – all ages are welcome! Our Political Education committee will also be hosting a book exchange, so we can share strategies, histories, perspectives, knowledge, and resources to take into 2024.
Limited tickets are available, so please RSVP now! Our suggested donation for entry is $10 — but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Of course, if you're able to donate more, all profits from the event will go directly towards our organizing work in 2024.
Before the party, join us to
canvass for our endorsed city councilmember Nithya Raman at 10am in Los Feliz! No experience required as training will be offered before we start. All you need is a willingness to meet fellow Angelenos and talk to them about their issues and explain why Nithya is the best choice to continue representing the district!
TODAY! Ecosocialism, Demilitarization, and Palestinian Liberation
Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 1:00 PM PT
In the past months, Democratic Socialists of America has mobilized to end the Israeli siege on Gaza and its illegal, US-funded occupation of Palestine. In this panel, we will discuss this resurgence of a Left anti-war movement in the context of the climate crisis and explore how ecosocialist organizers can deepen internationalism and anti-militarism within domestic climate organizing. Palestinian liberation is central to the climate justice movement—and why demilitarization is not only socially necessary, but a requirement for meeting climate and environmental goals.

MEMBERS: Help us get an office - vote for new bylaws!
For our chapter to get an office space where we can host meetings and socials, we need to incorporate as a 501(c)(4). To do that, we have to make some changes to our bylaws to be in legal compliance. Bylaws can only be changed by a membership vote.
All members in good standing should have received a ballot via email titled "OpaVote." Email [email protected] for help!
MEMBERS: Nominations close soon for Steering or Branch Coordinator!
DSA-LA members, are you hoping to nominate yourself for Branch Coordinator or for Chapter Leadership? If so, fill out this form by December 14 at 11:59pm!
