In a moment, I’m going to ask you to chip into our campaign ahead of Friday’s mid-month deadline.

But first, I hope you will give me a chance to explain why it’s so important that we hit our goal.

On December 31st, our team will close the books on our fundraising this quarter and get started compiling a report to send to the Federal Election Commission.

Shortly after, that report will be made public for everyone to see — including voters in IL-13 and our right-wing opponents and national Republicans.

That’s why my campaign and I have set an ambitious goal to reach 500 contributions by the end of the month to show just how much strength we’ve gained since I launched my reelection campaign last month.

So reaching our upcoming mid-month deadline is crucial to ensuring we’re on track to hit our final fundraising deadline of the year.

There’s not a doubt in my mind that national Republicans will keep a close eye on this report and coming up short of our goal could give them the impression that our team isn’t prepared to protect this seat against our right-wing opponents. GOP attacks could start raining in on our campaign.

That’s why it’s so important that we knock this goal out of the park and show everyone that this team is still committed to fighting for our shared values — and that we have what it takes to make history once again.
