John,

I’m grateful to live in a place where so many people share my progressive democratic values.

Reducing inequality. Lifting up working families. Ensuring we can all go about our lives freely and safely no matter who we are. Our values are a strong foundation for getting San Francisco back on track.

And they aren’t just talk. They show up in our policies – like our city’s public campaign financing program, which levels the playing field between grassroots campaigns and campaigns backed by special interests.

This program matches small-dollar donations six to one, so grassroots campaigns like ours have a real shot at beating powerful incumbents and well-funded challengers.

If 500 or more San Franciscans chip in to this campaign, it will show we have major grassroots support, and the public financing program will match donations six to one. Will you contribute right now?

Crime is a problem in our city. The current administration thinks they can solve it by criminalizing poverty. That’s out of touch with our San Francisco values. It will hurt those in need.

I take a different approach. Since 2020, I’ve been working with commercial retailers, small businesses, and community leaders to implement effective solutions to organized retail theft. We’ve increased the presence of law enforcement in retail corridors to deter theft and hold people accountable if they commit it. We just found out that theft cases over Thanksgiving weekend were down 75% from the same time last year, thanks to our work.

Recently, I also led the passage of a new ordinance that will put more foot patrols in our neighborhoods. Foot patrols build trust between communities and police. They help reduce car break-ins, retail theft, and other crimes, including violent crime.

But the person with the most power to reduce crime and improve policing is the mayor. That’s one reason why I’m running for the office, and why I’m asking you to contribute to my campaign. Contributions from San Francisco residents will be matched six to one, so please chip in whatever you can:

Your donation today will help us get our campaign’s message out early to every community in San Francisco – and bring us closer to securing matching funds so we can go toe-to-toe with the incumbent and the billionaire in the race.

For every $10 San Franciscans contribute, the public financing program matches it with an additional $60. However, this match only kicks in if 500 grassroots supporters chip in.

I know we can win this election and get San Francisco back on track – but first, we need to unlock these matching funds. If you want to see new, experienced leadership here in San Francisco, make a contribution today.

Together, we will make San Francisco the greatest city in the world.

Thanks for your support,
