After his father passed away, 67-year-old JW temporarily moved into the family house to ensure it was taken care of before it was sold. Then JW suffered a stroke, leaving him in dire financial circumstances.

He couldn’t afford groceries or his utility bills. He unsuccessfully applied for food benefits six times. After everything he had gone through while caring for his parents, JW needed help in his own time of need.

Things finally began to improve when JW contacted a local NCOA partner. The staff helped him successfully apply for food and energy programs.
