Hi, I have some uncomfortable news: You might be funding anti-climate lobbying.
Across the U.S., bad-actor utility companies are using their customers' money to lobby against smart climate policy.
Thanks in part to growing public pressure from folks like you, some utility companies are shifting course and transitioning to clean energy. At the same time, several others are doubling down on the status quo—clinging to polluting, expensive, and unreliable power sources like coal- and gas-fired power plants.
Earlier this year, we led a successful campaign to hold a major utility trade group accountable for dirty lobbying, but the fight isn't over as long as utilities can legally continue to fund anti-climate lobbying efforts with ratepayer dollars.
That’s why we're gearing up for our next push. Are you in, Friend? |
A thriving, just, and inclusive clean energy future is coming, whether powerful polluters like it or not—the only question is how long they're going to be allowed to stand in the way.
It's time power companies served the public, not fossil fuel interests. With your help, I know we can make this a reality. Sincerely,
Justin Balik State Program Director Evergreen Action |
P.S. Any donation between now and the end of the year will give Evergreen the resources and capacity needed for success in 2023. Thank you for giving! |
