Hi John,

We know this time of year isn’t always easy for those of us who constantly have to fight with our country’s broken care system. So I wanted to take a moment to talk about what’s giving me hope for winning better care across the country.

In honor of the holiday season, here are ways we’ve seen our country embrace the spirit of care this year:

At Caring Across Generations, we’re working to lift up caregivers, care recipients, and care activists so we can all make change for the better. Fixing our country’s broken care system doesn’t just happen – it’s only possible because of ordinary people like you and me rising up together to take action. Your $20.00 donation helps support that work. [[link removed]]

Minnesota and Maine became the 12th and 13th states to pass paid leave policies! This gives workers access to much-needed time to care for themselves and their loved ones – because nobody should have to choose between their families and their jobs. We’re also actively pushing for a federal paid leave policy for everyone in the entire U.S.

President Biden signed a historic Executive Order on care this year – the largest federal investment in care in history. This has led to mental health programs supporting caregivers for veterans, more affordable child care for families on military bases and families receiving government assistance, and better support for childcare centers around the country. Our work with the White House helped lead to this historic event!

Care advocates (like you, John) fought to protect Medicaid – and we won! When the government was fighting over the debt ceiling in the spring, it looked like dangerous cuts to Medicaid were on the table. But we led a movement of thousands of care activists from across the country that took action to stop that from happening. We’ll continue to fight to protect Medicaid in the budget fights still to come.

And at Carefest just this past month, we brought together 500 leaders across entertainment, business, philanthropy, and advocacy to build power for our care movement – so we can win better care for all of us.

Care is not just for the holidays – it’s important year-round. Your $20.00 gift today can help us continue to push a national care movement forward, so we all create a better future with the spirit of care. [[link removed]]
