That’s why when Akorn Pharmaceuticals suddenly closed their Decatur facility and left more than 400 workers jobless earlier this year, Nikki knew she needed to step up.

She proudly introduced the Fair Warning Act, legislation that will ensure workers receive proper notice in the event of layoffs.
