Folks, my heart breaks for Kate Cox and women everywhere. Since the fall of Roe v. Wade, extremist Republican politicians have been emboldened to interfere in our reproductive decisions and force us to travel across state lines to receive the healthcare we need.
TX-15 deserves a congresswoman who will defend reproductive freedom and protect our families, not one that forces a woman to carry a life-threatening and non-viable pregnancy to term. Being forced to cross borders to seek healthcare is a story I know all too well — I grew up watching my mother traveling to Mexico for lifesaving treatment because she could not access it at home.
No one should be pushed to leave their home state for life-saving healthcare, let alone the hardworking mother of a Texas family. This is the reality we’re living in right now, and for countless other women who are not able to travel, a life-threatening pregnancy is a death sentence.
