All caps means he is very, very serious.

I believe health care is a right. Right now, the ACA is more popular than ever with 9 million Americans who buy insurance through the Affordable Care Act Marketplace.

That is why I voted to reduce premiums for ACA members. Meanwhile, MAGA Republicans and their buddy Donald Trump are out with a vengeance to undermine the ACA, despite it being wildly helpful to get and keep people insured.

Of course, we know Trump lies about this policy and plenty of other issues. But lately, he has escalated near-totalitarian claims of what he would do if he were to return to the White House — including redoubling his attacks on the ACA:

Truth social post: "I don't want to terminate Obamacare, I want to REPLACE IT with MUCH BETTER HEALTHCARE [sic]. Obamacare Sucks!!!!

That is from Truth Social. The all-caps sections and copious exclamation marks let you know just how serious Trump is.

Friends, we know that Donald Trump and his far-right allies have only ever wanted to roll things back when it comes to health care in America — to a time of runaway corporate profits, coverage denials, and politicians inserting their extreme ideology between you and your health care provider.

That is why they have tried over and over to repeal the Affordable Care Act, while never presenting a serious plan to replace or fix it. And that is why they have fought to restrict reproductive freedoms across the country, including successfully stacking the Supreme Court to repeal Roe v. Wade.

As always, we are going to fight back for Washingtonians and the millions of Americans who benefit from the provisions of the ACA.

That means working to expand access to high-quality, affordable health care that fits Northwest Washington families' budgets — not 'replace it.'

That means continuing to work to lower the costs of prescription drugs. I voted to reduce prescription drug costs by letting Medicare negotiate drug prices, by imposing a tax penalty if drug companies increase their prices faster than inflation, and by capping the price of insulin at $35 per month — and that is just the beginning.

More soon,

Rick
