Friend –

House Democrats just reintroduced the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, a groundbreaking bill to expand voting rights and strike down voter suppression laws, named in honor of the late Congressman John Lewis.

“Countless souls marched, protested, & stood in immovable lines so no citizen would be denied their right to vote. Now we must continue the fight to protect our democracy & redeem the soul of America.”

- John R. Lewis

Friend, join us in action: Email your Senators now to demand they pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act >>

During his final years in office, Congressman Lewis was committed to protecting voting rights for all Americans by passing a new bill that would expand on the 1965 Voting Rights Act – a key piece of legislation that passed thanks to the activism of Lewis and other civil rights leaders.

Unfortunately, Senate Republicans blocked this new bill from passing – but now, Congressional Democrats are renewing the call to expand voting rights by passing the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

Here’s how this new bill would protect and expand voting rights for years to come:

🗳️ Prevent localities and states from enforcing discriminatory voting laws,

🗳️ End last-minute changes to voting procedures that make it harder to vote,

🗳️ And expand the government’s ability to send federal observers to the polls in order to prevent possible discrimination.

If we want to ensure that every eligible voter can cast their vote quickly, safely, and without discrimination, we must pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act >>

Thank you for helping us protect John Lewis’ legacy.
