Ahead of the two-year anniversary of the shooting at her son's school, Emily joined people across the community to reflect and talk more about gun violence prevention.

And while it was a difficult reminder of the tragedy that devastated our community, we thought it was important to let elected officials in on the discussion, which is why we invited our representative in Congress, John James.

The issue? He never showed up.

This is the same John James who voted against funding for firearm injury and mortality prevention research.

This is the same John James who said "no option was off the table" when asked about supporting schools being able to use federal funds to buy guns.

This is the same John James who has done nothing for the community who trusted him to keep our children safe, who can't even face the community he's failed time and time again.

John, enough is enough.

Emily is working hard to prove she can show up for our community, to prove she can stand up for what we need. But just like she's shown her commitment to our residents, we need a strong base of grassroots supporters to show their commitment to Emily.
