As we approach the end of another impactful year, we are excited to announce the opening of nominations for the Colorado Democratic Party annual awards.
We are seeking nominations for the following categories:
Democrat of the Year
The Democrat of the Year award celebrates an individual for their work advancing the policies and values of the Colorado Democratic Party, and honors the courage to do hard things in service of making Colorado an even better place to live, work, and play. This individual’s ability to advance Democratic principles, foster unity, and inspire participation makes them worthy of this distinguished award.
Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates an individual’s lifetime of commitment and tireless advocacy of the Colorado Democratic Party. This individual has worked to advance the values of the Party through their leadership, steadfast dedication to bettering the lives of our state’s residents, and whose exceptional contributions over their lifetime have left an indelible mark on our state and Party.
Murphy Roberts Rising Star Award
The Murphy Roberts Rising Star Award, named in honor of Steamboat Springs native Murphy Roberts, recognizes individuals who, like Murphy, have demonstrated exceptional commitment to Democratic values. Murphy's dedication to politics began at a young age, spurred by his personal experiences and a passion for social progress. The life he lived continues to inspire us to fight for a brighter future for generations to come.
Additionally, we are introducing a new category this year:
Volunteer Of The Year Award from Each Congressional District
New this year is awarding someone from each Congressional District as Volunteer of the Year. Each Congressional District has unique challenges, and the Volunteer of the Year is someone who helps us all rise to the occasion in every election in each district. Your nominations play a crucial role in recognizing the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to advance our shared Democratic values, no matter their zip code.
