An anti-abortion, anti-marriage equality Republican just entered the race for Washington’s 6th District.

The chair of the Washington GOP has said our district is turning redder and is “potentially winnable.” We haven’t had a wide-open election in our district in 50 years . Nothing is guaranteed, and I’m not taking anything for granted.

• He is against abortion rights and called for an investigation into Planned Parenthood.
• He is against voting by mail.
• He is against marriage equality — if he got his way, my marriage would be invalidated.

And if he wins, it wouldn’t just be a disaster for the district — it would severely undermine our chances of taking back the House in 2024.
