Everyone deserves to feel safe in their community, friend.
To stop crime in West Hollywood and beyond, we are staying focused on effective, holistic solutions that involve all of us supporting each other to keep our communities safe.
As Mayor, we got to work to revitalize and strengthen the Block-By-Block Security Ambassadorship program, helping to prevent and report crime on residential streets and in commercial areas. We also required increased training in nightlife areas to prevent sexual harassment and assault, making history by helping West Hollywood become the first city in the nation to initiate Drink Spiking Test Strips in local nightlife facilities.
Thanks to our strategic partnerships, block-by-block policing, and an intertwined community approach to safety, crime in West Hollywood is down 8%.
In Congress, we will continue to support innovative solutions that keep our communities safe, including gun violence prevention. Please, power our movement with a contribution today.
POWER OUR MOVEMENT
Safety should mean empathy, not force.
When it comes to protecting our communities, police are only one part of the equation. We must prioritize sending trained mental health professionals in crisis response. In Congress, I'll push for federal funding to create effective street teams.
And for survivors of violence, abuse, assault, and trauma — sympathy alone won't cut it. Survivors deserve justice and support. That's why I'm on a mission to fund vital support services, abolish forced arbitration in harassment cases, and ensure accountability for perpetrators.
Together, we will build a culture of safety, respect, and healing.
Thank you for being part of our movement for safety, justice, and empathy.
With gratitude,
Mayor Sepi Shyne
