Each year PRA treasures the opportunity to gather with you, our community, to reflect and share some of our favorite things about defeating authoritarianism and building a democracy. This is a special opportunity to hear the latest from and engage directly with PRA's leadership, Board members, cherished movement partners, and more. As we are witnessing the escalating consequences of authoritarianism in the U.S. and globally, the stakes for building democracy are even higher, and the best thing about our work is the people we get to work with. Register here Rajasvini Bhansali is the Executive Director of Solidaire Network and Solidaire Action, a community of donor organizers mobilizing critical resources to the frontlines of social justice. She is a passionate advocate for participatory grassroots-led power building and a lifelong student of social movements. In a wide-ranging career devoted to racial, economic and climate justice, she has previously led an international public foundation that funds grassroots organizing in Asia, Africa and Latin America; grown a national youth development social enterprise; managed a public telecommunications infrastructure fund addressing the digital divide in the Southern United States; and worked as a community organizer, researcher, planner, policy analyst and strategy consultant. She is also a published poet, essayist, popular educator, yoga instructor and leadership coach. Tanya Coke is the Director of the Ford Foundation’s Gender, Racial, and Ethnic Justice team, focusing on issues of mass incarceration, harsh treatment of immigrants, and gender and reproductive justice. Previously, she served as a distinguished lecturer at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice at the City University of New York, teaching courses on public policy and working on school-to-prison pipeline issues. Prior to that, Tanya was a program director on criminal justice for the Open Society Institute and a program manager for the US Human Rights Fund. She also served as a senior consultant to the Atlantic Philanthropies from 2010 to 2013, while running a strategic-planning consulting practice for social justice nonprofits and philanthropies. Trishala Deb is the Director of National Programs at the Collaborative for Gender and Reproductive Equity. She has been a social worker, community organizer, funder and advocate before joining CGRE, where she oversees implementation of the funding strategy with national organizations, and in support of the state based portfolio. Trishala spent the last 25 years with organizations such as the Audre Lorde Project, the Arcus Foundation, Caring Across Generations, and Thousand Currents. Rooted in Resistance will also be an exclusive opportunity to hear directly from and engage with PRA Directors, including: Rev. Naomi Washington-Leaphart, Dr. Koki Mendis, Orlisha Fox, and of course myself. Fighting authoritarianism is better, and more effective, alongside friends and community.
