Team — For months, Pat called on Alabama Senator Tuberville to stand down in his blockade on military nominations.

But last week, Tuberville finally heeded calls by patriots across the country and dropped part of his dangerous and irresponsible military nomination hold.

Tuberville held up military promotions in protest of Defense Department policies regarding reproductive health care for nearly a year. He opposed the ability for service members to travel to a different state to receive an abortion — depriving the people fighting for our freedoms of a fundamental right.

With these vacancies filled, America is safer and more secure. This is a victory for the men and women who have waited far too long to secure the promotions their service has earned.

However, he continues to hold up some key promotions — a signal that he is still willing to jeopardize national security over this issue.

And Pat will not remain quiet about the fact that a single elected official has the ability to jeopardize our country’s military readiness for months on end. Our government should not function that way. He also won’t forget that it took months for the GOP to call out Tuberville for his dangerous blockade.
