John,
Our petition reminding Congress that a vote for a closed-door commission is a vote to cut Social Security and Medicare just launched over the weekend―and it already has over 40,000 signatures!
There’s still time to send your message to Congress before they leave for the holidays. Add your name: Hands off Social Security!
Here’s the bottom line: There’s no reason to deal with Social Security and Medicare behind closed doors unless Congress wants to hide from voters. And voters are incredibly clear: They want to see Social Security EXPANDED, not cut!
The Republicans who are pushing this commission, like Mitt Romney and Speaker Mike Johnson, have voted over and over again to slash taxes for the wealthy. Instead of forcing the wealthy to pay their fair share, they want to take our earned benefits―forcing retirees to make do with less while their wealthy donors soak up the profits.
We can stop them. Send Congress a message!
Tell Congress: A vote for a fiscal commission is a vote to cut Social Security!
Thank you,
Alex Lawson Social Security Works
