John — I have a special request for you today:
Will you sign the birthday card for my wife Eve? You can add your name and a short note if you want, too:
It’s no exaggeration to say that I would not be here, running for U.S. Senate, serving in Congress, defending our democracy every day, without Eve’s support.
I first met Eve playing tennis in Playa del Rey, where a friend with an odd sense of humor set us up to play — Adam vs. Eve. She impressed me with her sense of humor, intellect, beauty, and wicked double backhand. She clobbered me.
And when I asked her out, I think Eve only said yes because she let her curiosity get the best of her — going out on a date with someone named Adam.
We’ve been together ever since — and she has been my rock through the good times and the hard times. Here we are, back in the day:
From life’s highs, like the birth of our two children, to the lows, like the endless stream of threats from the MAGA crowd, Eve has supported me.
She stood by me through all the attacks — and the attacks have only grown more fierce since I served as lead impeachment manager in Donald Trump’s first trial.
Eve has even sent a few emails to you because it’s important to me that you hear from her about this campaign — she knows me best.
Eve is an amazing wife, mother, confidant, friend, and partner, and I’m so lucky to be her husband.
To make this birthday extra special, I would love to collect signatures and kind words from folks like you. Will you add your name to her birthday card, John? It would mean so much to me.
I’m looking forward to sharing the card with her later today. Thanks for signing, and for letting me sing Eve’s praises (and sing happy birthday to her later, too!).
— Adam
