You cannot expect to effectively represent CO-08 if you disregard long-ignored communities, which are so vital to the future of this state. In CO-08, that’s the Latino community , which I can tell you firsthand has suffered some of the worst voter suppression and intimidation efforts both here and across the country.

When I ran to be a Colorado state representative the first time, I remember seeing Latino voters bring their young children to the polls — so that they could translate English-only ballots for their parents. In response to this insidious form of voter suppression, I championed legislation in my first term to expand access to multilingual ballots.
Despite our district having the largest Latino population in all of Colorado, my Republican opponents last year proclaimed support for English-only ballots. My team is anticipating the same Republican support for blatant voter suppression and eagerness to bend the rules of elections in their favor next year.
I won’t stand for it , and I’ll do everything in my power in Congress and in Colorado to ensure that every eligible voter knows where, how, and when to cast their ballots, and, most importantly, that they understand what they’re voting for.
