Dear Friends,

Merry Christmas from my family and the PJI family to you and yours! We have so much to celebrate this year.

Through very generous donors committed to PJI’s over 25-year mission, I am elated to share with you a special matching grant opportunity. This chance allows you to contribute and help us achieve even more victories in the new year. Before delving into the details of this opportunity, I'd like to provide a quick summary of how instrumental you have been in aiding PJI to secure victories in numerous battles in this past year alone.

It’s challenging to choose from among our well over 220 active cases, our media footprint, and our impact in legislatures. However, here’s a highlight of our top new victories.

  • Earlier this summer, PJI saved multiple critically ill patients from medical death row! David Peters, PJI Michigan attorney, filed a religious discrimination lawsuit on behalf of patients who were removed from the transplant list at the University of Michigan Health Systems due to their religious objection to the COVID-19 vaccine. These patients faced a medical death row sentence solely because of their faith. Thanks to our unwavering efforts, they now have a second chance at life.

  • PJI New Jersey attorney, Karyn White, fought the illegal terminations of six Christian correctional officers from the New Jersey Juvenile Justice Commission over their sincere religious refusal of the vaccine mandate. The correctional officers settled with the State and are getting their jobs back with no requirement to be vaccinated.

  • In late summer, PJI Texas attorney Emily Cook successfully defended School Board Trustee Chad Green, a champion for parental rights. The board censured Green in May 2022, alleging policy violations for his testimony before a legislative committee on a bill aiming to keep explicit books out of school libraries. Attorney Emily Cook refuted these claims, asserting no policy violations occurred.

  • In California, we successfully helped a Christian couple who were being threatened to have their kids removed by CPS simply because of their faith.
Keep reading. There’s more! Here’s a highlight of new case filings and opportunities this year.
  • PJI filed a motion representing the New Jersey Family Policy Alliance in their fight to keep parents informed if their child is experiencing gender dysphoria. PJI is committed to serving parents so that they can make decisions that are within the families’ and children’s best interest.

  • In Colorado, PJI is defending an employee who was fired for refusing to take the vaccine due to her religious beliefs. We are taking on Denver Indian Family Health Services to ensure this woman and many others’ religious freedoms are protected.

  • In Nevada, PJI staff attorney Emily Mimnaugh is representing the Carson City District Attorney in collaboration with Nevada Right to Life. They are working to lift an injunction against the Nevada state laws that require parental notification of a child's abortion.

  • In Oregon, PJI attorney Ray Hacke is defending a Christian couple who were denied their foster care license simply because their religious beliefs do not support homosexuality and transgenderism. Hacke asserts that under the First Amendment, no government agency can discriminate on the basis of religion.

  • PJI opened new offices this year with attorneys now in Tennessee, Idaho, Hawaii, Maryland, Ohio, and Delaware. This makes an astonishing 36 offices across America!
Once again, this is all just a fraction of all that our dedicated attorneys have been able to accomplish this year. And, this is all thanks to your unwavering financial support and prayers. I hope this both encourages and motivates you to keep fighting with us! We predict even larger and more challenging battles ahead of us.

Right now, I invite you to partner with us in current and future battles. Together, we are victorious. You can provide us double the legal ammunition and firepower to boldly fight these battles by participating in a matching grant of up to $500,000! We urgently need your help, so take a moment to write a check or make your online donation, for the largest possible amount that you can afford. If you can send us $50, it will be doubled by our matching grant to $100. If you can send $500 it will become $1,000. And in addition, all new monthly donor commitments, or increases in monthly commitments, will also be doubled for the entire year!
