Dear Free Software Supporter,

The FSF is proudly sponsored by individuals like you, who support
software freedom. The major part of the FSF's budget is made up of
associate member dues and donations. Your support is what lets us
[campaign for computer user rights][1], [maintain critical
infrastructure][2] and resources for the community such as the [Free
Software Directory][3] and the [LibrePlanet wiki][4], [defend free
software from efforts to turn it proprietary][5], and [fiscally
sponsor free software projects][6].

To inspire your giving, generous supporters like Brewster Kahle
and Cristian Frâncu offered to triple every donation up to $15,500
made between Tuesday, December 12 and Thursday, December 14. This
means that, with our donors' match, if you donate $5 to the FSF, we
will get $15 in total. If you donate $1,000, the FSF will receive
$3,000! But only if we make our goal of $15,500 by Thursday, December
14, 24:59 EST (04:59 UTC on December 15). Don’t let this generous
matching donation slip away. Help us meet the matching challenge!

**Can you help us meet the matching challenge by [ensuring a
contribution][7]?** Or, you can advocate for
user freedom and help us meet the matching challenge by convincing a
friend, colleague, or family member to [join the FSF][13]. Every
[contribution][7], big or small, will help us to achieve the goal of
collecting $15,500 by December 14.

Your support counts! With your contribution to the matching challenge,
you're helping us to make software freedom a reality.

Yours in freedom,

Miriam Bastian
Program Manager
