Why Only Counties?

Because all politics is local!

The next most frequent question I am getting is: Why is Caucus Room restricting communication and groups to Members from a single county? The answer: Local is all that matters.

None of the frustrations we experience as conservatives can be addressed at the state or national level.  All change is local. All elections are local. All culture is local. I live in Jefferson County Colorado. Jefferson County Colorado used to be a reliably conservative county.  Over the past 10 years it has become a left leaning county. Why does that matter? We are now represented by Democrats in the Colorado house/senate/governor and US House. Because Jefferson county has shifted left, the US Senate has two Democrat senators from Colorado. If we could find a way to move Jefferson County voters a little to the right, we could change the way our children are taught, how our county is managed, and shift the balance of power in the State and in the Country. But that will require focus, resources and effort at the county level.

Jefferson County Colorado is not the only county in the country experiencing the same shifts. Some have shifted left recently; some decades ago; and some not yet. But the strategy is the same. We must effectively organize our neighbors and neighborhoods either to recapture lost territory or to protect what we have. The more conservatives are distracted by what is happening elsewhere, the less time, energy and resources we will have to influence our neighbors to be more open to and resonate with conservative values. It is not that complicated. All politics is local. The only way to move the country is for enough of us to move our own individual counties.
