BREAKING: The Attorney General of Texas has threatened felony charges against a pregnant mom, her doctor, and three Houston hospitals.
Have you heard what’s unfolding in Texas? Kate Cox is a Dallas-based mom of two who has been in and out of the ER. It turns out her child has trisomy 18 — a typically fatal condition. Her doctor says it’s medically necessary for her to get an abortion.
But Texas has banned abortion. Kate asked a local judge for permission to get an emergency abortion because her fetus is nonviable, and the judge granted it. Then the Trump-endorsed Republican Attorney General asked the State Supreme Court to OVERRULE the district judge’s decision and went out of his way to contact the hospitals where Kate and her doctor could perform the procedure and threaten them with felony charges.
This is another example of why it’s so important that we support pro-choice Democrats running at every level — not just the top of the ticket. EVERY elected position holds power, and we need it to be in the right hands. Will you chip in $10 today to help us elect pro-choice Democrats to statewide office in 2024?
