The Actors Fund

Dear Actors Fund Members, Donors and Supporters,

As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve by the minute, we want to update you on our operations as they stand at this time.

  • The Actors Fund is here for everyone in the performing arts and entertainment community.
  • In order to best promote the health and safety of our community while still providing access to our services, we are temporarily transitioning our programs to online or phone-based communication. These services, for seniors and those in need in our performing arts community, include:

    • Artists Health Insurance Resource Center
    • The Career Center
    • Housing Resources
    • Addiction & Recovery
    • HIV/AIDS and Senior Services
    • Counseling and emergency financial assistance
    • And more

  • Actors Fund staff are working remotely and all meetings are online. Please do not travel to our offices at this time, unless you have an appointment at The Friedman Health Center in NYC.
  • The Friedman Health Center at 729 Seventh Avenue, 12th Floor is still open. Our wonderful medical staff are handling a big increase in calls and visits, with dedicated support from our partners at Mount Sinai.
  • Broadway shows are closed through April 12.

    • As always, we offer many services to support those workers who are impacted by this.
    • We are in contact with donors who have supported us through ticket purchases, and are working diligently to help minimize your disappointment at cancelled events. We thank you for generously supporting our work, especially now.

  • We have implemented strict protocols at The Actors Fund Home in Englewood, NJ and The Palm View in West Hollywood, CA for the safety of our residents, who are especially vulnerable to this virus.
  • Our building management partners have similarly implemented strict protocols at The Schermerhorn residence in Brooklyn, NY and The Dorothy Ross Friedman Residence in Manhattan.
  • We have postponed our In The Spotlight dinner previously scheduled for March 23.
  • Our Annual Gala, originally scheduled for April 6, has been postponed. Stay tuned for further updates.

Thank you as always for supporting a life in the arts. If you are able to make an additional contribution to help us continue to foster stability and resiliency, and provide a safety net for those most vulnerable at this time, we—and our performing arts community—would be most grateful.

With the utmost gratitude,

The Actors Fund
