For months, Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville used the United States military as a political pawn. 

He held up promotions for hundreds of brave servicemembers in a ridiculous anti-abortion grandstand. 

I became livid with Tuberville’s reckless tactics — but I wasn’t going to stay quiet and let him get away with it. So I fought him every step of the way:

But the problems don’t end here, folks: By denying servicemembers the promotions they rightfully earned, Tuberville also denied them the months of pay and benefits that come with them. 

So last week, I introduced bipartisan legislation to send back pay to everyone who suffered because of Tuberville’s self-centered actions.

Political stunts like these are exactly why the 2024 elections are so important.

Extreme Republicans like Tommy Tuberville are determined to create dysfunction in our government and play games with people’s livelihoods. If we let them win back the Senate next year, we can only expect more absurd stunts like this one.
