When I say we’re completely grassroots, this is what I mean:

Our average online contribution for last month was $38.79.

While it would probably be a lot easier to take a few big checks from corporate PACs (the way my opponent is) – and have our average contribution be much higher – I’d rather have everyday folks like you chipping in just a few bucks at a time to help us win this race.

I’ve seen the corrupting influence of corporate PAC money in our politics as powerful special interests pay politicians to do what’s best for their bottom line, not yours. As counsel in the U.S. Senate, I worked on a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United, and I’ll continue that work in the House.

That’s also why, when I decided to run for Congress, I swore that I would never accept a single penny from corporate PACs.
