Mary Gay Scanlon for Congress

First, I want to thank you for engaging with our team last week, your feedback is so important as we work to make sure your voice is heard.

Now that the election year is on our doorstep, it’s time to have an honest conversation about Mike Johnson, Donald Trump, and 2024. At this time, all signs point to Donald Trump being the likely Republican nominee for president. It might be hard to believe, but it’s time we really prepare for what that means.

As the Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on the Constitution, I am clear-eyed in my responsibility to defend the constitution from Trump and his MAGA allies who are willing to put our constitutional processes at risk to get their way.

Trump now has a loyal, extremist ally in Speaker Mike Johnson, who is all too comfortable putting even our most sacred rights at risk. Families, women, children, veterans — no one can afford two more years of Republican chaos and destruction, much less with Donald Trump back in the White House. And I need to be honest with you that that possibility is very real.

The 2024 election will be a hard fight at every level of the ballot, and Democrats must stay united. You can keep up on 2024 and the consequences of a Trump presidency over on my Twitter – make sure you are following for the latest:

Thank you again,

Mary Gay
