Friend, —Did you get a chance to read my last email?

I shared my experience as a young gay man in Jamaica: I was abused and attacked for being myself. I had no one to talk to. Then, when I was publicly outed in an internet video, it was too dangerous for me to stay.

I came to the U.S. seeking the freedom to live openly and find a place to call home.

I was so excited when Immigration Equality took my case. Without them, I would not be where I am today—living my truth as an LGBTQ rights activist, social worker, and model! Now I’m doing everything I can to give back.

Join me by making a gift of $100 today to help win safety and freedom for hundreds of LGBTQ refugees like me.

I had to leave my country because of who I am, but I was able to find myself here. I'm happy. Being safe is a breath of fresh air.

Friend—more Immigration Equality clients come from Jamaica than any other country. Just like me, they need protection from rampant homophobic violence.

Donate $100 today to get my queer siblings the legal services they need to win their asylum cases.

Immigration Equality

Dear Friend,

When I was a young child in Jamaica, a group of men in my community attacked me on my walk home from school. They threw stones at me and shouted homophobic insults.

I couldn’t fight back because they might come after me and kill me. If I went to the cops, they wouldn’t protect me either. So, I lived in fear.

I lived in fear my whole life until moving to the United States—where I found safety, community, and myself.
