Hello,

In this week’s edition, I address why adventure is more reliable than happiness, especially in the long-term perspective of life. Then, Dr. Sarah Hill and I discuss the implications of birth control on the brain, sex-based differences, and the foundations of our physical makeup. From the archives, I explain the psychology behind selling a product — and why it matters in marketing.

Choose The Adventure That Is Difficult And Worthwhile

Happiness is a boat that is easily capsized and the waves are always there. So if your philosophy is one of impulsive happiness, then you are not prepared when all hell breaks loose — and all hell will absolutely 100% break through at some point in your life, and you are lucky if it will not last decades. It will certainly be some of it and it might be a lot of it, and for some of you, it is going to be damn near the whole thing. So, if what floats your boat is happiness, you are going to be capsized by the first decent wave.

You might ask yourself what is more reliable than happiness, and I do think the answer is adventure. End-of-life surveys that ask people what they regret have shown they do not regret what they did that did not work; they regret what they did not do that could have worked. They regret the chances they did not take. One of the things you want to be able to say to yourself is: that was extraordinarily difficult but it was worth it.

Have confidence in what you have managed to accomplish, the kind of confidence that would instill you with a genuine sense of self despite your fundamental inadequacy. To have that fundamental sense of self-regard that is grounded in something real, it has to be based in a narrative that approximates both what is extremely difficult and what is worthwhile. You must have both.

A new show is coming out on DailyWire+ called “End of the World.” It’s narrated by my friend and colleague, Jonathan Pageau. If you saw my series on Exodus, then you are familiar with Jonathan’s profound interpretations of the scriptures.

It often seems like we are enmeshed in a complete web of chaos, and it is tempting to declare that we are nearing the End of the World. But as Jonathan points out, we might not be nearing the end but an end — and that might in fact be a good thing. In this new four-part series, Jonathan provides an instructive framework for understanding these tumultuous times and offers a roadmap to restoring much-needed order. If you feel as if the world as we know it is spiraling towards an inglorious end, Jonathan offers a useful set of analogies to help you reframe this particular age we’re enduring. And more so than that — he offers hope — and the opportunity to anticipate a new beginning.

I hope you’ll tune in because I believe you will find it as illuminating as I did. Consider becoming a DailyWire+ subscriber to watch.

Comedian Matt Rife Remains Unapologetic For Making People Laugh

One of the things that I have noticed repeatedly, because I have gone through repeated attempts of people trying to cancel me, is that it can be quite an intense experience in the immediate aftermath of its occurrence and that is somewhat off-putting and destabilizing because you do not exactly know how far out it is going to spread or what the consequences could be. But if you did not do anything wrong and you do not apologize, or maybe you make light of it in some creative way, then the probability that it will turn around and flip in your direction, if you can tolerate the weight, is extremely high. Part of the reason I am bringing this up is because I do not think the people who are in the throes of being canceled understand this.

Would You Love The Same Man On And Off The Pill? | Dr. Sarah Hill | EP 403

In this episode, I have an in-person conversation with researcher, professor, and author Dr. Sarah Hill. We discuss sex-based differences in regret, competition, and academia; the balance between life exposure and safeguarding when raising a child; the practice of “mate-choice copying” among women; and why our hormones are a foundational part not just of our physical makeup, but also of who we are and who we have the potential to become.

The Psychology Behind Selling A Product

In order to sell a product, not only must you identify the market for the product, you must be in continual communication with the market while you develop the product. Further, there are numerous potential blockers to take into consideration with product development. The psychology behind selling a product can inform that process — and help it succeed.
