Hi John,

These are anxious times for many coping with the coronavirus or the prospect of it reaching their community.

You're an important part of the Center for Biological Diversity's work, so I want to let you know what we're doing right now.

My first priority's making sure our people are safe and taken care of. Most of the staff is now working from home, and our offices are available only to those who need to be there to perform critical functions. We took this as a precautionary step to protect our employees and stem the spread of the virus.

The Center's staff is the reason we're able to do what we do every day: whatever's needed to save wildlife, protect wild places and create a safe future for our planet.

Speaking of which: Despite the unfolding situation, we continue to stand up for the wild. Our legal, scientific and activism work is ongoing, though we've had to make some adjustments to accommodate the outbreak and ensure that the health of our staff and volunteers remains a top priority.

At the same time, we know that the extinction crisis and the climate crisis are barrelling ahead. Our public lands remain under threat from oil and gas drilling. Wolves are still being targeted. Neighborhoods still face industrial pollution. Oceans are warming and pesticide use is still going through the roof.

We'll continue to fight these battles every single day. Check out some of our latest wins here:

We do it because we have to, no matter what else is happening in the world. We do it because we love these species and these places. And that love only grows stronger and more enduring when our world shifts uncertainly.

Thanks, as always, for standing alongside us.

For the wild,

KierĂ¡n Suckling
Executive Director
