Hi John,
We’re celebrating a major victory in 2023: the FDA approved Opill as the first ever over the counter birth control pill.
The win was made possible thanks to Advocates’ partnership with young people like Dyvia, a Free the Pill youth council member who, with support from Advocates, fought tirelessly to organize and mobilize young people and to uplift the message that young people need OTC birth control.
Support our nation-wide network of young people working to ensure everyone has affordable access to contraception.
Dyvia testified before the FDA about the importance of birth control access for young people. The committee voted unanimously in favor of making Opill available over the counter, with several members citing youth testimony specifically in their decisions.
Now, the fight moves on to ensuring Opill is affordable and covered by insurance. We’ll be there, and so will young people across the country. Will you help youth activists ensure everyone has the contraception options they need?
Support us by giving $50 now to help expand access to contraception.
Thank you for your support,
Debra Hauser
