John, I hope you’re having a great December so far! It’s hard to believe the year is coming to a close.
For me and my team, the campaign is heating up in a big way. Recently I was proud to be endorsed by Dallas Firefighters, Dallas Police, and the Texas Fraternal Order of Police. And earlier this month, we were also endorsed by Beto O’Rourke and EMILY’s List. I’m honored by these endorsements, but since they came in, my opponents have kicked their attacks into overdrive.
As the frontrunner in this race and as a gay woman, these attacks have unfortunately turned personal. After being in law and politics for years, it sadly comes with the territory. And while it’s not something I’ve gotten used to, I have learned to let it roll off my back and use it to fuel my passion for making change.
