Dear John,
Enough is enough. I am mad as hell.
As someone who works tirelessly in Nevada to prevent gun violence, and a resident of Texas, the recent events in Bexar County, Travis County, and at UNLV are not merely headlines; they are a personal and painful reality. In 2018, I experienced the terror of looking for my friend’s children during the shooting inside Santa Fe High school here in Texas. Two of my friends lost their children and my daughter nearly lost a classmate. These tragedies bring into sharp focus the critical need for comprehensive action to tackle gun violence.
It is no longer enough to offer thoughts and prayers – we must take proactive steps to protect innocent lives.
Recent wins have proven that when we stand together, we hold the power to drive change. Wins like when we worked with community leaders in Austin to allocate first-time funds to the local Office of Violence Prevention [[link removed]] as a permanent part of the budget.
Together, we can make a difference by advocating for meaningful reforms at every level of government and preventing gun violence before it starts in our communities.
We must not wait for more lives to be lost. Every day that passes without action is another day where we risk further tragedies.
Join me in taking a stand against gun violence and advocating for policies that will invest in and protect our communities.

We can be angry. We can be made as hell AND we can make a difference.
Sincerely,
