DFPS Seeks Input on its Legislative Appropriation Request for the 2026-2027 Biennium

In preparation for the 89th Legislative Session that begins on January 14, 2025, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is beginning the process to develop its Legislative Appropriations Request (LAR). The LAR?s significance is substantial, as it outlines the agency?s funding needs for fiscal years 2026 through 2027. DFPS will submit its LAR to the Texas Legislature in August 2024.

You are partners in this important process, and we welcome your insight and input as we develop our funding requests. Please clearly explain your recommendations, and submit them and any pertinent supporting materials to [email protected].

The deadline for suggestions is Friday, February 2, 2024. We look forward to your recommendations!
