Folks — This email is long, but it’s on an important topic. It’s about the work we’ve done to make health care more affordable. While Donald Trump and far-right Republicans try to rip away medical benefits for millions of Americans – including those with pre-existing conditions – I’m working to expand access to affordable care.
Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, we’re helping families across the country save hundreds of dollars every year on their medical benefits. We allowed Medicare to directly negotiate drug prices with manufacturers. We continued improvements to Affordable Care Act tax credits. We lowered premiums and capped prescription drug costs for Medicare beneficiaries. I’m proud to say we’ve made a lasting, positive impact for families in Colorado and across the country. And that’s not all we accomplished! We required prescription drug companies to pay back consumers if they increase drug prices faster than inflation, and even capped the out-of-pocket price of insulin at $35 per month for Medicare beneficiaries. But here’s the problem: Republicans and Donald Trump want to repeal all of our progress, including the Affordable Care Act itself. Folks, that would mean higher premiums, higher prescription drug costs, and no protections for those with pre-existing conditions. Their health care “plan” would only hurt folks who rely on these programs the most. We need to do more to protect and expand health care benefits for working families – not roll back the progress we’ve made! If you agree, will you make a donation of any amount to support this work?
