Dear FAIR Friend,

As right-wing politicians and anti-abortion activists work to undermine reproductive rights supported by the majority of the American public, reporting that captures the real and personal impacts of the issue beyond its use as a political football is critical. FAIR’s recent CounterSpin episode featuring the New Republic’s Melissa Gira Grant discussed the ways in which journalists should—and should not—be approaching this life-altering issue.

Conversations like these, that challenge our Fourth Estate’s complicity in threats to democracy and bodily autonomy, are absolutely crucial—and FAIR has been deeply committed to having them since our founding in 1986.

Conversations like these also require resources to publish.

Meeting this goal makes or breaks our start for 2024. After a few years of financial challenges, FAIR’s fundraising is falling short of what’s needed to maintain our current operations long-term.
