Friends and Comrades- As winter sets in, we hope you all have a chance to enjoy time with friends and chosen family. We are taking this time to do some recharging and reflecting on the last year's successes and challenges. At the same time, we are trying to keep up with important local, national, and international developments in issues that affect the working class in our struggle against the capitalist machine. Please note a few of these items are time-sensitive. Let's keep up the fight for human dignity and solidarity!

Support Tenant Organizing in Espanola!

One of our DSA Comrades has been organizing tenants at Las Lomas apartments in Espanola and now his landlords are trying to evict him for his efforts. Please attend his virtual eviction hearing to stand in solidarity against abusive slumlords in New Mexico!

The hearing will take place at 3pm on Thursday. You can access the meeting at this link.?

Let Our Congresspeople Know: Ceasefire Now!

There is currently a resolution before the NM Democratic Party demanding that our congresspeople support an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. If you're a registered Democrat in New Mexico, you have until tomorrow, 12/12, to show your support for this resolution.

Socialist in Office Committee Applications

At our November General Meeting, the chapter approved the creation of a Socialists in Office Committee. This committee will meet with local Socialists in elected office to get updates from them on what's happening in their elected body and to give feedback to the Socialists what our chapter priorities are. This committee will be appointed by chapter leadership. If you are interested in being a part of this committee, fill out the Google Form at this link.

Reading Group

We're continuing the reading group this weekend for Ralph Miliband's Marxism and Politics. We'll be reading Chapter 4 (The Defense of the Old Order: II). Our reading group meets at 10 AM Saturday, at Ohori's Coffee at 505 Cerillos Rd.

DSA depends on support from ordinary members, rather than corporate funding or grants. As we ramp up our campaigns to take on the millionaire and billionaire class in New Mexico, any donations you can provide will go a long way.
