Dear AdvOCAtes,

To ensure the well-being of our staff, community, and constituents in light of COVID-19, OCA National is following precautionary recommendations from local authorities and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

We regret to inform you that the following events are canceled:
* APA Y: Detroit, March 21 (Reschedule TBA)
* APA Y: Phoenix, March 21 (Reschedule TBA)
* APA Y: Tucson, March 28 (Reschedule TBA)
* APIA-U: at Dartmouth, April 11
* APA Y: Westchester & Hudson Valley Chapter (Reschedule TBA)
* APA Y: Washington, DC, April 18 (Reschedule TBA)

The following events are adjusted as follows:
* April National Board Meeting will be held virtually via Zoom. OCA National will be sending Chapter Presidents details about the call and refunds.
* JACL/OCA Leadership Summit will be postponed to Fall 2020. A new date will be announced ASAP.

While the OCA National Center building will be closed from March 16 through March 27, OCA maintains normal business hours with our staff working from home. Please feel free to email or call us at our usual lines if you have any further questions. You can find our contact information on the OCA National website ([link removed]) .

The 2020 OCA National Convention will proceed as scheduled, on June 25-27, 2020. For all updates regarding registration, schedules, and changes due to COVID-19, please continue to check the Convention website at www.ocanationalconvention.org.

During this time, we encourage you to review the CDC guide ([link removed]) to stopping the spread of the virus.

OCA condemns unwarranted discrimination towards ethnic Chinese and other Asian Americans due to harmful stereotyping and misinformation about coronavirus. The notion that Chinese and other immigrants are contagious is racist and extremely harmful, resulting in discrimination against Asian American-owned businesses and Asian Americans in all aspects of life. Asian Americans are once again being targeted as aliens, deemed perpetual foreigners, and wrongly accused as public health threats.
