SPECIAL MESSAGE REGARDING CORONAVIRUS

Coronavirus is dominating news cycles, conference calls and kitchen table-conversations. We know you may be feeling uncertain or anxious, which is why we wanted to reach out.

Texans are being responsible and making plans for their families and businesses. Being prepared will prevent panic and help steady our communities and neighbors. We’re in this together!

Last week, Senator Cornyn fought to get $35 million to reimburse communities in Texas that are responding to Coronavirus. This is especially important to San Antonio, where those on affected cruise ships are being quarantined. [More here.]

He’s also pushing for more resources to help Texans and their families and businesses impacted by this outbreak. Look for more details on what that means for you in the next week.

Senator Cornyn is in contact with Governor Abbott, and is speaking to Texas mayors, the Texas Hospital Association, President Trump and U.S. HHS Secretary Alex Azar.

Urging lawmakers to put Americans first – and politics aside, Senator Cornyn is focused on ensuring our communities and the state are getting what they need to help protect the health of Texans during this time.
 

In the meantime, be sure you’re following the CDC guidelines for personal hygiene and prevention:

• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Wash your hands frequently, with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

By taking common-sense steps to keep ourselves healthy, we can help ensure the safety of ourselves and our families.
